Some program manager at IARPA must be a YUUUUGE fan of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings since there’s a program called !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which in the LOTR lore is where Frodo ran to after Boromir got a little too handsy. In the movie, its where Fellowship broke apart after getting ambushed by Orcs.
Hilariously enough, in Sindarin, it apparently means !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which makes sense considering the program objective is about using ground based interferometers as a GEO imaging system.

I occasionally use a program called Palantir, which is a LOTR seeing stone!

A college friend of mine once worked for Palantir Technologies; always joked that he worked for Sauruman
